4. Application: Alcohol Ester-12 is an excellent coalescing aid for use in latex emulsion paints. It is of low water solubility, ease of addition to paint formulations, high coalescing efficiency, low freezing point and very good hydrolytic stability. For solvent coating, the material can be used as a retarder. It is considered the industry’s standard for coalescing aids. It is widely applicable as film forming auxiliary for water-based paint, paint coalescence agent, plasticizers, also used as floatation reagent in the gold and coal industry.
